I gotta confess. I honestly expected a closer football game than what we saw Sunday at McMahon. Instead, the game planning of Dave Dickenson and his staff and the sheer talent of this team made this the kind of demoralizing beatdown that has to have the Ottawa Redblacks wondering if there’s much point in making the trip to Toronto.
Offense? Bo Levi Mitchell put the ball wherever he wanted, whenever he wanted. Jerome Messam and Roy Finch sliced and diced the Lion line with surgical precision.
Defense? John Jennings was smothered in the pocket and couldn’t break out to start ad-libbing. The Manny show was pre-empted.
Special teams? Chris who?
A special group of players will pack up and head to Toronto this week. Win Sunday, and start looking for a slot for this crew on your list of best CFL teams of all time.
