A successful back-country rescue is the story behind a new initiative by Avalanche Canada to promote the Companion Rescue Skills course.
Mary Clayton with Avalanche Canada tells the Alberta Morning News that a group of four skiers where hit by a very large avalanche but luckily another group was nearby. Clayton adds the story is extremely compelling and a must see.
The Rescue at Cherry Bowl is being used as a teaching tool for others. The story is part of a new multi-media, interactive site that takes viewers through the full gamut of how the avalanche started to the successful rescue of all the skiers.
