Sentencing will now come down November 25th in the Ali Montoya case.
He is the man who ran a red light in May of 2015 on Macleod Trail and 12th Ave S.E. and killed a taxi driver and his passenger.
The 46-year-old taxi driver, Amritpal Kharbanda, died at the scene and his passenger, Jillian Lavallee, died in hospital hours later.
The 20 year old Montoya was accused of being impaired behind the wheel when the crash happened.
The crown says he was going just under 100 kilometres an hour when he entered the intersection and only had a learner’s license at the time of the collision.
Montoya pleaded guilty on Friday to two counts of criminal negligence causing death and one count of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
25 victim impact statements were read during the sentencing hearing Wednesday.
