Farmers are being encouraged to use greener technology.
The NDP government is planning to spend $10 million to expand existing programs that encourage farmers to use energy efficient equipment and solar power.
Agriculture Minister Oneil Carlier says the program is open to all farmers, but is most focused on greenhouse operators, irrigators and dairy and livestock sectors.
The money is coming from levies paid by large industrial C-O-2 emitters that exceed reduction targets.
The government says about 700 producers are already involved in the efforts but are hoping to increase that number.
