Police from Red Deer and Bashaw RCMP have confirmed the identity of a victim who died when a fire swept through the Bashaw Motor Inn.
The blaze flew through the Bashaw Motor Inn on Sunday, October 9th. A body was found in the debris and three people were taken to hospital.
54-year-old Barinder Singh Tiwana was identified through the use of DNA during the course of an autopsy done in Calgary.
A few days later officials say racist graffiti was found at the scene of the fire, but they could not say whether the graffiti was linked to the fire.
The scene of the fire has been released by investigators, however, the investigation is still ongoing.
Bashaw Motor Inn is about one hour from Red Deer.
