Good news for post-secondary students in Alberta.
The Notley government is extending the tuition freeze through the 2017-2018 academic year.
The extra time will allow the government to work with stakeholders to review the tuition and fee model in Alberta.
The review will look at how to increase post-secondary costs fairly, and give students some financial predictability.
In addition to tuition, the consultation will include discussions on mandatory non-instructional fees, international student tuition and how to best support students through student aid.

Last fall the NDP reversed a cut that had been announced by the previous Tory government and instead increased base funding by $40 million.
Post-secondary schools and students are praising the extended tuition freeze.
