Ever read the reviews for As Seen on TV products? Or better yet, buy one only to find out it’s not as great as you thought?
Bruce and Betty Jo have some advice about two products that aren’t as good as they seemed on the ads.
“I don’t know if you’ve seen this on TV, but there’s a new frying pan called Gotham Steel,” says Bruce. “It’s remarkable just what this frying pan can do.”
Apparently, in this pan you can cook all sorts of things, and they won’t stick.
“It’s so awesome to see it on TV,” says Betty Jo. “I actually was thinking about ordering it.”
While it seemed like a great item to buy, there are a couple of issues Bruce wants you to be aware of.
“You have to order it through Canada, but you still have to pay U.S.,” says Bruce. “Secondly we’ve been reading up on some reviews and I know you’re not going to believe this about a television product, but it doesn’t quite live up to what they say.”
This product’s overall rating is a one out of five stars, and all of the reviews they found were negative. It is said to work seven or eight times, then it works like any other crappy frying pan.
“Then there’s Hot Hands, it’s a new…silicone-based coated glove,” says Bruce.
On the TV ad a man grabs hard boiled eggs and lobsters out of boiling water, while using the glove.
“Are there any reviews on that?” asks Bruce. “I would think it would probably work better than the…frying pan.”
Betty Jo says this product’s overall rating is two-and-a-half stars out of five, and it has a mixture of reviews.
