55,000 Catholic school students in Calgary are heading back to class today.
While they’re busy getting to school this morning, motorists are getting the annual warning to drive with caution around school zones, follow the speed limits, and keep your eyes open for pedestrians.
There are a number of new Catholic schools opening this fall but like the public system, there have been some delays in construction caused by bad weather this summer.
Our Lady of Grace in Evanston won’t open until Tuesday and it could be several months until Prince of Peace school in Auburn bay is opened. There are also a couple of new schools opening in January.
Meanwhile public school students start classes on Tuesday.
