An independent report says changes are required in workplace practices at WestJet.
The company engaged a consultant to look at its policies after a string of alleged sexual harassment complaints were made.
The report from Ernst and Young says there’s a recognition by all levels of the West Jet organization that changes are required to meet current legal requirements.
It says that a ‘Respect in the Workplace’ plan is in place but it’s not well understood by some employees leading to contradictions on how to address issues.
It recommends an update to the policy and formal training for all employees.
