There will be nostalgia at Mosaic Stadium on the weekend and for the balance of the year. The long-time home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders is closing down, making way for a new building next year.
Yes, the memories will be plentiful. From the improbably Larry Robinson field goal of 1970, to the Grey Cup of 2013 to many other great plays. We appreciate the excellence of many great Saskatchewan stars who have graced the field.
However, we can’t wait for the building to close. It simply is time. The dressing rooms really haven’t changed since Peter Liske’s era. The press box is not functional. The winding stairway to the upper floors is very uncomfortable for the fans.
Thanks for the memories, but no tears will be shed when we leave on Saturday night.
