Never a dull moment in the US presidential race, it would seem. And that’s due in large part by the unforced errors by Republican nominee Donald Trump. In fact, it’s been an ongoing series of controversies for Trump, which in turn has seen him fall further and further behind Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
Supposedly the Trump campaign had learned from these controversies and was going to reset and focus on the issues. But then this happened today:

It’s hard to interpret this as anything but a suggestion or a joke about someone assassinating Hillary Clinton. And that seems like a highly inappropriate and irresponsible thing to do. Donald Trump knew full well what he was saying and he said it anyway. Unless he’s trying to sabotage his own campaign it’s virtually impossible to understand what he’s thinking. If this keeps up, November is going to be a landslide for Clinton. When will Republicans sit up and take notice of the damage their nominee is doing to the party?
The Clinton campaign certainly took notice of today’s events:

What will tomorrow bring? Still three months to go, folks.
