Calgary Police have laid charges in the death of a woman Tuesday in Woodbine.
Police and EMS were called to a home on Woodridge Close S.W. at about 3am Tuesday for reports of a woman in medical distress.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Homicide unit was put on the case after a medical investigator attended the scene and deemed the death to be suspicious.
The victim is 38 year old Melissa Couture. She had a developmental disability and suffered from chronic medical issues.
Police believe she did not receive the medical attention she needed under her mother’s care.
