A light suspension to Duncan Keith for slashing Charlie Coyle’s face and not even a hearing for Kris Letang on last night’s slash to the face of Viktor Stalberg just the latest indication the buffoons at player safety still aren’t getting it….but the NHL can’t afford to turn a blind eye to Chicago’s Andrew Shaw.
Shaw was caught on tape using a homophobic slur, apparently directed at an official. Busted. No defense, no interpretation, no out for Shaw when he claims he can’t remember what he said. This is bigger than the game, and the kind of language that needs to be eliminated everywhere, let alone in a so-called major sports league live on TV.
If the NHL doesn’t suspend Shaw, they might as well move the league office from New York to North Carolina.
