A Lethbridge couple is being accused of putting five children, including an infant, in harm’s way through drugs.
It all started with a traffic stop by Vulcan RCMP on April 2nd, where cocaine was seized from the vehicle.
The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team ended up getting a search warrant for the couple’s Lethbridge home, and ten days later, raided the home to find more cocaine, marijuana, codeine pills and a replica handgun.
The value of the drugs was over $38,000.
The children were put into the care of other family members while Child and Family Services was notified.
A 39-year-old man and 39-year-old woman are facing several charges related to drug trafficking and “causing a child to be drug-endangered.”
Their names are not being released, to protect the identity of the children.
