RBC Bluesfest is zeoring in on the best young (13-21 years of age*), emerging female singers in Canada.
They are looking for one special artist with an incredible voice backed up by a moving live performance. RBC Bluesfest and Cadence Music Group will be working with the winner of She's The One to produce a single for worldwilde release. The She's The One winner’s expenses including any recording, production and travel costs, related to the prize package will be covered by RBC Bluesfest.
The prize package will be focused on artist development and industry networking. The 2017 winner of SHE’S THE ONE will collaborate with industry songwriters and producers to write her potential hit song! The winner will be coached and guided through an all-expenses paid recording and production of this single. The winner will have the opportunity to perform on a stage at the 2018 edition of RBC Bluesfest. The artist will be given all access rock star treatment at the festival and introduced to some of the most influential movers and shakers in the music industry.

2017 marks the 37th running of the Calgary Police Half Marathon presented by Bennett Jones.
Proceeds will go to support the Calgary Police Foundation which funds six youth-based programs that help prevent crime by identifying and effectively intervening with young people most at risk. Youth who have been victims of crime, or who are at risk of victimization.
Registration is open until April 28th, and you can enter into the Half Marathon, 10K Run or 5K Run & Walk. Top three individuals and top three teams who raise the most funds in the new pledge program will be eligible to win great prizes! Teams can even request a volunteer CPS officer to do an honourary training run with your team.
New this year, youth and seniors can take part in the Rookies & Legends 1KM indoor run in celebration of Canada's 150th Birthday with prizes every 100 meters.

The 27th annual It’s A Snap ladies-only football seminar, presented by Fabutan, will take place on Wednesday, May 3 and Thursday, May 4.

Thanks to Fabutan, one lucky fan will win a spot to It’s a Snap for themselves and a friend. Fans can enter by putting their names in a draw box at any of Fabutan’s 27 locations in the Calgary area.
It’s A Snap, presented by Fabutan, gives women aged 18 and over an interactive opportunity to learn more about football directly from Stampeders players and coaches. The evening includes the teaching of basic football concepts, on-field instruction and the opportunity to meet with Stamps players, coaches and fellow fans.
As a participant of the ladies-only football seminars, Stampeders coaches and players will break down the basics of CFL football and share a detailed understanding of some of the strategies used while preparing for games, leaving you with a strong foundation of Stampeders football. You will be introduced to both classroom and on-field instruction led by Stampeders players and coaches.
Doors open to the event at 5:30 p.m. for check-in, where a light selection of appetizers and soft drinks will be served prior to a locker room address from Stampeders personnel. Following the group classroom and on-field sessions, all participants are invited to wrap up the evening in the Stampeders locker room for a wine and dessert reception while you mingle with the players and coaches.
The cost for each session is $80 + GST and includes an It’s A Snap insulated water bottle and two tickets to the Stampeders vs BC Lions pre-season game on June 6, 2017.
Because there is high demand and limited availability, each registrant will only be allowed to register one additional guest. Please note this event is restricted to women ages 18 and over.
