No Panic Yet.

There is no reason to hit the panic button over the play of Stampeders quarterback Drew Tate.  In fact, no reason to start looking for the button.


However, Tate's showing the pre-season opener with the B. C. Lions has raised some concern.  Tate's numbers-----two of seven passing---only tell part of the story.  His throws were consistenly high or behind receivers.  He seemed to struggle the moment he stepped on the field.  Not the kind of command you expect from an unchallenged number one quarterback.


Tate's showing the pre-season game was preceded by a so-so effort in the team annual scrimmage.


I understand scrimmages and pre-season games present unique challenges.  Timing is off.  Personnel unfamiliar with each other shuffles in and out of the lineup.


That's why I am not too alamred over Tate's showings.  But it is time for Tate to pick it up and play at the level he ...
