It does not take a rocket scientist to know that the Stampeders running game “sucked” last game. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that the fault for the lack of a running game lies with many, not with just a few. Having said that, the last thing the Stampeders should be doing is pointing fingers at one another. In the aftermath of the Stampeders lose, several in the media indicated to me that the finger pointing amongst the players reared its ugly head. I hope that was the media making something out of nothing. If not, someone should take the ugly head and cut it off. A good teammate never criticizes another teammate! Leave the criticism to the coaches.
Nothing good can result from criticizing a teammate. It makes the player doing the criticism look selfish and it negatively affects the player being criticized. It causes damages to a team’s unity. The first sign of the downfall of team unity is players criticizing one another. The first seed to building great team unity is players who praise teammates when they do well and who comfort and encourage them when they make mistakes. Criticizing teammates in the heat of battle simply distracts from the focus of working together and gives the advantage to the opponent who develops a sense of confidence when seeing signs of weakness or a lack of unity in the midst of the competition. I don’t think too many of the Stampeder players aspire to be rocket scientists but I know they all aspire to be good teammates. In this time of Stampeder difficulty, let’s hope the players use their brain and never openly criticise another teammate.
Go Stamps Go
