How's that for excitement!

Anyone who didn't fell they got their money's worth from Thursday's amazing comeback win over the Riders needs his or her head examined! For those of us who love the CFL game, that game is nothing if not bulletin board material for anyone who asks 'Why do you like this stuff?'

Crazy reversals of fortune...a stunning comeback...raw emotion mixed in with a little hate...yup..this one had it all. But now it's over we have to ask where the Stamps go from here.

The Good: Kevin Glenn looked a lot sharper seeing as he finally had a full week to work as the first team quarterback. He was confident in the pocket and on target with his receivers. Yes, Glenn will always have his cringe-worthy moments of bad decision making but what we saw last night was Glenn the Good, even showing a little toughness at the end when he shook off a questionable hit and came back on to direct  the game winning drive. The defense still showed some vulnerability to big plays but on the whole held up well. Rob Maver is kicking the ball brilliantly and Mark Killam's return and cover teams are solid in the field position war.

The Bad: Discipline....discipline...discipline. I bet John Hunagel's sicker of seeing the ongoing struggles with dumb...ill timed penalties than I am of writing about it. Drive extenders on defence...drive killers on offence. And now....the Stamps are clearly on the ref's radar. The benefit of the doubt is gone, and opposing teams may think they can get away with a little more if the refs are looking for the retaliation and not the shot that started it.

Another acid test awaits the stamps next Saturday with the BC Lions in town. Week 3' loss to the Rider may turn out to be what the Lions needed to shake of  Grey Cup hangover.

Finally, I'm gonna wave the DIno flag for Rider rookie Sam Hurl. The Centennial kid is having the outstanding rookie year as a special teamer I predicted he would. Former Stamps assistant now Rider special teams coach Craig Dickenson couldn't say enough good things when we chatted about Sam Thursday night. Attaboy Hurl! Now cut the hair....
