So with Drew Tate on the shelf for an extended period with a dislocated shoulder, the question is how comfortable is the organization with Kevin Glenn as the new number one?
Short term, the veteran Glenn should have no issues running Dave Dickenson’s offence. However as some fans have suggested on Sportstalk, they are not expecting miracles!
“We will be lucky to win two more games before Labour Day,” says Kirk! “Sometimes adversity brings prosperity and I think Bo Levi is the best quarterback prospect to come to Calgary in 5 years.”
Wow, Glenn hasn’t even started a game yet and the fans already want the backup quarterback!
As I mentioned in an earlier blog, I do like Mitchell’s game and confident attitude but to be a successful quarterback in the CFL you need time to develop and mature. Anthony Calvillo, Henry Burris, Jeff Garcia Travis Lulay and Drew Tate are perfect examples.
Bo Levi Mitchell will have his day to shine but right now the Stamps need Kevin Glenn to step up and be the veteran leader he can be! It all starts on Thursday night.
The Stamps are in Montreal on Thursday. The Tom’s House of Pizza pre-game show is on the air at 4:00 pm. Dave Rowe and I will be live from the Cowboys Casino.
