As a new CFL season is about to get underway, I may as well put it in print.  The Calgary Stampeders will finish in second place in the Western Conference this season.  The Stamps will need to take advantage of a relatively easy schedule in the first four weeks of the season.  If not, they may drop back to third!

"We will not be the sexiest team in the league this season,"  Stampeder head coach and general manager John Hufnagel told us on Monday night on our half hour with Huf for Byron Smith Ford in Strathmore. "However, we will claw, compete and battle for wins."

The BC Lions are the class of the Western Conference and I would not be surprised if they win 14 or 15 games. 

Henry Burris and the Hamilton Tiger Cats are going to be the team to beat in the East. 

Montreal and Saskatchewan will be on the outside looking in come playoff time.

I know a lot of people will disagree with my thoughts on the Als, but it my opinion, this is a team on the decline.  Yes, they have a few offensive weapons but I am not convinced AC will play the entire year and there are too many questions on defence.

If Winnipeg can't find a replacement for Garrett at running back, then they will be the team on the outside looking in!
