Calgary police have confirmed  murder charges against the father and step-mother in connection with the death of a 6-year-old girl in northeast Calgary last November. 

Meika Dawn Jordan died in hospital on November 14th, a day after suffering injuries at a Temple area home.  Police were orginially told the little girl fell down stairs.  Autopsy results, however, showed the little girl died from multiple blunt force trauma inconsistent with a fall.  The autopsy also revealed that Meika suffered severe burns to her hand.

On Sunday, police arrested the little girl's father and step-mother. 26-year-old Spencer Lee Jordan and 22-year-old Marie Eve Magoon are now charged with second-degree murder.  Both remain in custody and will appear in court Tuesday.
