Staff responded as best as they could.

That's the finding from two U of A reports into the deadly HUB mall shooting June 15th that left three armoured car guards dead and one wounded.

The report from the University's Risk Management Services Office found that the situation was handled appropriately and in a timely manner.

The report acknowledges that many students and staff complained about not being alerted soon enough after the shooting took place. BUT... it says the decision to not implement the university notification system was the right move.

That being said,  the university released 19 recommendations following the HUB mall incident. One of those is to ensure that all 24-hour contact information is up to date.
