Cattle Producers say the situation at the XL Foods meat packing plant is frustrating because there's nothing they can do about the problem.
Wayne Hanson and his family have been in the ranching business for more than one hundred years. After dealing with the BSE issue for a number of years they are now being impacted by the possibility products from the meat packing plant in Brooks are at risk of possible E.coli contamination.
Hanson says the biggest problem for producers is that the problem is out of their hands and they feel a little helpless and the timing couldn't be worse, "This is one every starts marketing their cattle, their cull cows, their calves, their yearlings are going in. This is a time when you can't afford a hiccup in the market"
The meat packing plant in Brooks deals with over a third of the beef production in Canada.
