(L to R: Premier Alison Redford, Agriculture Minister Verlyn Olson and David Chalack)
Alberta's Premier is out today doing damage control in the wake of a massive beef re-call.
Earlier today Premier Redford along with Agriculture Minister Verlyn Olson...met with family beef producers.
Premier Redford says the province is working closely with federal authorities in getting the XL Foods plant back up and running.
Redford says, "Our priority right now is to make sure that people know that Alberta beef is a safe product. It's a high quality product. And to ensure that we get this plant open as soon as possible in compliance with CFIA regulation."
Olson and Redford are meeting with other beef producers today to discuss how the beef recall has affected the industry.
