A peace officer killed south of Calgary this summer will be honored in Edmonton this weekend.
Rod Lazenby was responding to an animal complaint at a ranch near Priddis when he was attacked.
He later died at hospital and the suspect is going through the court system on a first-degree murder charge.
The province has announced Lazenby's name will be added to Alberta's Pillar of Strength monument in Edmonton.
It will be part of the 14th annual Police and Peace Officer Memorial Day in the provincial capital on Sunday.
