A clear winner in the Liberal nomination race in Calgary Centre yesterday.

53-year-old lawyer, Harvey Locke walked away with 213 of the 342 ballots cast, easily beating the other three candidates.

Locke says he's honoured with the strong endorsement and plans to run of a platform of ficscal, social and environmental responsibility.

Locke predicts a two-horse race in the coming byelection -- with the Liberals and the Conservatives fighting for top spot.

There is no date yet set for the byelection, however election law requires it begin by early December.

The MP job in Calgary Centre has been vacant since the Conservative Lee Richardson resigned to work in the Premier's office.
