The ribbon has been cut to officially open the new home of CUPS...a not-for-profit organization which helps poverty-stricken Calgarians.The old downtown building on 7th Avenue was high-in-demand, particularly by Encana with the construction of the Bow Building.So the company went out to help fundraise and find a space for CUPS. They found it on the corner of 10th Avenue and 9th Street SW.Executive Director Carlene Donnelly says the new location will help increase programs and services by 30-percent, with space to build more in the decades to come. CUPS has completed 99-percent of the $20-million fundraising goal.
