Police now say the death of a man in a southwest fire last week is a homicide. The fire started around 9:30 pm last Wednesday in a rooming house in the 300 block of 25 Avenue SW. Three people were rescued from the roof of the building, and another man was found unconscious in the home.  He was taken to hospital where he later died of his injuries. 

Investigators say  based on the autopsy and the examination of the scene, they have determined Daniel McWha was the victim of homicide.  They say the fire was deliberately set, and that he died from fire related injuries. However, they are not releasing details on how the fire was set.
