A couple of new recalls to tell you about today. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning about a product sold by Safeway that may contain fish, shrimp and sesame seeds not declared on the label. The products are Safeway Select Szechuan Chicken and Safeway Select Red Thai Curry Chicken. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Undeclared Product Size UPC Code Allergen ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Safeway SELECT Szechuan Chicken 345 g 0 58200 10333 5 2013 FE 01 Fish and Shrimp ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Safeway SELECT Red Thai Curry Chicken 355 g 0 58200 10331 1 2013 FE 01 Sesame Seed ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- These products were distributed in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. However, they may have been distributed in other provinces.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to fish, shrimp or sesame seeds.
Canada Safeway Ltd., Calgary, AB is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

Meanwhile the Food Inspection Agency is warning people with allergies to peanuts not to eat Kydon brand Tahini from Greece. One person has become ill after eating it.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Parthenon Food Importers Ltd. are warning people with allergies to peanuts not to consume the Kydon brand Tahini described below. The affected product may contain peanuts which are not declared on the label.
The affected product, Kydon brand Tahini, product of Greece, is sold in a 500 mL container bearing UPC 6 90651 77450 6 and Best Before date 16-10-2013.
This product has been distributed in British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba. However, it may have been distributed in other provinces and territories.
There has been one reported illness associated with the consumption of this product.
