Edmonton teacher fired for giving zeroes
_News Talk 770

Edmonton teacher Lyndon Dorval received the news he was expecting from the Edmonton Public School Board, that his job has been terminated.
The long-time physics teacher was suspended in May for giving students, who did not complete their assignments, zeroes.
That goes against policy at the high school where he was working.
Zeroes are allowed at a number of other Edmonton high schools.

Our society has major problems when a child who does not submit or do any work, expects some marks and is backed by the school board. What are they training or teaching this child to become? A future head of the Alberta Health system who has not improved anything in the system but still receives a pay check and bonus? An MLA who can be a member of a committee that does not meet yet still receives money for being on that committee? Hmmmm maybe they are teaching them what is expected of them when they do go out especially in the public work sector. I am of the old school, if you don't do the work you get "0". Just like working, if you don't do the work you don't get paid. The crime here is a person whom is trying to teach responsibility is being punished!
