An Edmonton area man is dead following a plane crash southwest of Calgary.

Crowsnest Pass Mounties say the call came in just before 6 Sunday evening from the Chain Lakes area.  A light plane crashed into a field near Highway 22 and Chimney Rock Road.  The pilot and lone occupant was dead at the scene. It's believed the plane was on a business-related flight.   

The man's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
