RCMP in southeastern Alberta say three people had to be rushed to hospital after an apparent case of distracted driving. Investigators allege a 17-year-old boy was manipulating a cell phone late Saturday morning when he lost control of a vehicle on Highway 41, northeast of Medicine Hat. The vehicle rolled near Schuler, leaving the driver from Barnwell with non-life-threatening injuries. His passengers, a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, both from Bassano, were also left suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The teenage driver has been charged with operating a motor vehicle on a highway while manipulating a cell phone, and failing to drive in the center of the traffic lane. (td)
