Apology over image change on $100 bill
_News Talk 770

An apology today from The Bank of Canada over the way the image of an "Asian-looking'' woman was removed from the initial design for new $100 banknotes.   Governor Mark Carney today apologized to anyone offended by the decision.

The bank came under fire last week when it was learned the image of an Asian-looking woman was removed from the design after some focus groups complained.  Another image of a Caucasian-looking woman was substituted.

The Chinese Canadian National Council called the move racist, and demanded the bank change its policies.
