A two-vehicle crash this afternoon claimed the life of a 79-year-old woman. The intersection of Country Hills Blvd. and Shaganappi Trail was closed for several hours as crews investigated. Duty Inspector Paul Stacey says it happened at about 2:15 when an elderly woman went to make a left turn from the wrong lane. Her SUV was then hit by an oncoming Jeep. The woman was taken to hospital but she later died of her injuries. The 19-year old man driving the Jeep did not suffer serious injuries. Police don't expect to lay charges.
