Enbridge launches PR push-back

The top executives at Enbridge must feel like someone who washes and waxes a black car and then watches a little bird drop a gift from above.  Just as that little bird can take the shine off a newly waxed car, Enbridge suggests no one is noticing what an amazing job it is doing. In full page ads that kick-off the latest PR push back in the wake of another spill, Enbridge says over the past decade it has delivered almost 12-billion barrels of oil with a safety record of 99.999%.  The ads, signed by the CEO and the President of Enbridge, say "that's good but for us it's not good enough" and they promise to do better. Enbridge says "pipelines are by far the safest, most efficient method of transporting large volumes of oil" and it asks people to look beyond the latest headline. The ads conclude "Enbridge is a Canadian success story with a hard-earned reputation as a responsible corporate citizen."
