Calgary firefighters were met with heavy smoke when they arrived at a house fire this afternoon. The blaze started at about 1pm in the 500 block of 28 Ave. SW. Crews were able to put the fire out quickly after gaining access to the home. No one was at home at the time. The cause is under investigation but crews believe it started at the back of the house.
