A southern Alberta man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for sexually assaulting women and a teenage girl in their homes. Shaun Desruisseaux will get credit for 16 months already served. He originally faced 28 charges, but pleaded guilty last spring to a dozen counts related to sex assaults between December 2008 and March 2011. An agreed statement of facts said Desruisseaux entered unlocked homes while he was wearing a black mask and wielding a knife. Victims told police that he told them not to fight back and he wouldn't hurt their children. In the last assault, a woman heard a commotion in her home and found Desruisseaux with her teen daughter.
