Canada's medal count jumps

Canada's medal total at the London Summer Olympics climbed Tuesday.

Canadian athletes claimed 3 bronze medals today, bringing the country's tally to 4, all bronze.

  • Roseline Filion and Meaghan Benfeito of Quebec claimed third place in the women's 10-metre synchro diving.
  • On the Judo matt, Antoine Valois-Fortier won Canada's second medal of the day in the men's 81-kilo class.  He defeated American Travis  Stevens.
  • And weightlifter Christine Girard has captured bronze in the women's 63-kilogram class.
