Residents of a Calgary high-rise were evacuated early this evening because of a fire. The blaze happened at an apartment building in the 9800 block of Horton Road SW. When crews arrived, smoke was seen coming from the 17th floor. About 100 residents were evacuated from the building at around 6:30pm. Most occupants have since been allowed back into their apartments except for the units that were involved. Horton Road was closed in both directions for a short time. No one was injured and there's no word on a cause.
