Alberta's Information and Privacy Commissioner has launched an investigation into the fire here at Shaw Court. The July 11th incident affected a number of computer systems holding personal, health and financial information of Albertans. Alberta's access and privacy laws require public bodies to protect against risks that could affect the security and integrity of personal and health information. The investigation will examine the safeguards that were in place at the time of the fire. The initial scope of the investigation will include Service Alberta, Alberta Health, Alberta Health Services, and ATB Financial. The Commissioner says the results of the investigation will be made public.
