Two Calgary families were forced from their homes Sunday evening by fire. The blaze broke out in at a home on Panamount Close N.W. at about 6:30 last night. When firefighters arrived they found one home fully involved, and the fire spreading to the home next door. Battalion Chief Al Magwood says they quickly called in a second alarm
The heavy smoke from the fire prompted fire fighters to temporarily evacuate homes downwind from the fire. Everyone got out safely, but damages are extensive. Magwood speculates one home will have to be knocked down, while the second home sustained major damage to the roof and second floor. Fire crews remained on the scene overnight watching for hotspots. There were no injuries.
