Wondering how many on-street parking spots are available, even before you go to the downtown core? There'll soon be an app for that. The Calgary Parking Authority is getting ready to launch two new programs. In the first, General Manager Troy Mcleod says it will be similar to what they have done online for parkades, by creating a smartphone application and website which tracks where on-street parking spots are available. Mcleod says the testing is underway and the program could roll out later this month or in early-August. He adds "Text-to-Park" is also being launched soon, where you'll be able to text in your parking zone instead of calling.
