Technical problem affects students writing online tests

Some grade twelve students in Alberta have a big choice to make after a glitch with their final exams last week.  24 schools were taking part in a pilot project, doing final exams on the internet instead of pen and paper.  But a server problem didn't allow some tests to be completed.  Alberta Education spokesperson Carolyn Stuparyk says it affected those taking part in English and Social tests Tuesday and Wednesday last week.  She says they got in touch with schools right away, who then spoke with the students about how to move forward.  Stuparyk adds their top concern was making sure students were not affected negatively by a situation they couldn't control.  Options being offered to each student include taking the mark from the completed portion of the test or re-writing the test in August to blend for the final grade, or simply taking the classroom mark.
