Huge turnout for telephone town hall on Highway 63

The MLA for  Fort McMurray/Wood Buffalo says a telephone town hall held last night over safety concerns along Highway 63 was a huge success.
Mike Allen tells the Rutherford Show on QR77 that over 35 hundred Albertans, most of them from Fort McMurray dialed in to give their thoughts on what can be done in the short-term to improve highway safety.
The ultimate plan is to try to fast-track the twinning of the Edmonton to Fort McMurray road, but in the short-term Allen says there was one recurring idea...to bring in higher penalties for bad driving. Allen points out that increasing penalties on one highway would mean doing the same on all Alberta roadways.
Allen's report on Highway 63 will be in the premier's hands July 29th.
