Alberta's official opposition is not surprised by the latest allegations the PC Party ofAalberta contravened election laws.

The University of Calgary says, following freedom of information requests, it discovered the school might have made "indirect contributions" to the Tories after legislation outlawing contributions from publicly funded insitutions in 2004.

Wildrose Justice Critic Shayne Saskiw says even though the amount of money is less than $10,000 it's still a serious allegation that requires investigation.  Saskiw says the PCs have been in power so long they have an entrenched culture of corruption and entitlement.

The U of C says it reported the activity when it was discovered even though it had conflicting reports on whether any laws were broken.   The University says it halted any practice that might contravene the legislation in 2008.
