A spring thunderstorm sent a lightning bolt through a Varsity home Tuesday.
Firefighters were called out around 5:30pm to a home on Vartown Place NW.  Crews arrived to find a tree next to the home had been struck. The charge from the strike traveled through the tree to a chain link fence attached to the house. The power of the charge traveled through the house and out through an underground water line which ruptured in the backyard, but luckily no other damage was reported.
Two adults were home at the time and neither were injured.
