Police, firefighters and EMS workers see things almost too horrible to imagine..and some can't turn off what stays inside in their heads.

With more first responders being diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Alison Redford is out with a campaign promise to help them. Redford has announced if her government is re-elected, she will legislate that PTSD is included in WCB coverage.

Redford says: "It is essential that we protect those who serve selflessly to protect us." She acknowledges that PTSD has emerged as a problem for first responders and adds: "like physical ailments and injuries experienced in the workplace, it causes real hardship to those suffering and their families."
