Two brothers are facing charges for illegally obtaining and possessing oxycontin.
Calgary police allege the men were able to get 85 prescriptions from more than a dozen doctors in Alberta and B.C.
They also say they allegedly filled the prescriptions at pharmacies in both provinces, which is known as double-doctoring.
They were able to obtain over 67 thousand pills, between February 2009 and July 2010, totalling $3.4 million.
The medication would then be sold on the street for profit.
Forty nine year old Michel Ferris Habib was arrested near his Calgary home, while 46 year old Sammy Sandy Habib was arrested at his home in Kelowna.
