The City of Vaughan is being sued for $35 million by a contractor involved in the building of their new City Hall.
Maystar General Contractors says the lawsuit is due to a string of delays and cost overruns as the project dragged on and exceeded its original budget by $15 million.
The lawsuit was filed last week and Maystar says the defendants delayed the completion of the new civic centre by 79 weeks due to a number of design changes and additions.
A spokesperson says the city was reviewing the claim and planned to file a defence shortly.
