There are several burning issues on the agenda for the upcoming civic election, but one I hadn’t considered was the issue of streetlights.
One listener, Robert, called in to express his frustration – echoed by several other listeners – at the number of streetlights that are out, and how difficult it seems to be to get them repaired.
He asked some great questions: If these LED lights are supposed to be so wonderful, why are there outages all over Calgary? Did the city buy a bunch of duds? Is it saving Calgary taxpayers any money? Who’s responsible for repairing them? Why does it take so long to get a crew out to do it?
